What are professional headshots?

Everyone wants to make a good first impression. In business the headshot is the image most people see before an in-person meeting. Professional headshots are typically used for websites, business cards, social media profiles, and publications. This image should help your potential customers, or clients see you as trustworthy, helpful, friendly, competent, and confident.

The term "headshot" simply means cropping an image somewhere around, or above the middle of the subjects torso in order to create focus on the face. As a photographer I utilize the setting, background, pose, and expression to highlight your personality.

Do you really NEED headshots?

A first impression is generally made within seconds of meeting someone. This can be a face-to-face meeting or seeing a social media profile online. Liking or disliking someone can happen without any personal interaction. This is why having a great headshot can help to attract customers and clients to you and your business. Most of these first impressions happen online these days. It could be a website, LinkedIn, or social media.

Making a good first impression will have a major impact on your brand and success. It can determine how many customers reach out to utilize your services.

How should I dress for Professional Headshots?

Attire for a headshot session is based on your industry and where the pictures will be viewed. Here are some recommendations to start with when choosing your style of dress:

• Dress for the job you WANT, not the job you HAVE
• Look at what your peers are wearing for their headshots
• Research successful people in your industry and see how they dress

I am located in Murfreesboro, TN and can travel in the surrounding area. I can set up in your office, headquarters, or we can find a location that is suitable to your line of work.

What is the process?

Headshots do not involve many moving parts. This is great for me, the photographer, and you, the professional. There is minimal stress and together we can make the shoot relaxing and smooth. Let's have fun with it!

Here are the normal steps for a professional headshot session:

• You contact me, or book a date/time on my website
• We discuss your profession and goals
• If desired, we can discuss examples that you feel would best suit your headshot session
• We meet and shoot!
• We will meet wherever you decide (indoor, outdoor, corporate office, etc)
• I will help you be comfortable and at ease
• Sessions typically last 20-30 minutes
• Posing is easy! I will direct you and help you through it every step of the way.

The part of the process that is very helpful is if you as questions. Many times I'll arrive at a photoshoot and a person or family will begin asking questions about the shoot. The whole time we have been in the process they have been worrying about things that I could have explained earlier in the process. Do not hesitate to reach out and ask any questions you may have about receiving professional headshots.

Do you have different packages?

I offer two different headshot packages for individuals. These can be tailored for each situation if you required more photos or specific deliverables. See below for my two most booked packages.

I also offer group rates for 10 or more people if you entire office needs updated headshots. Pricing for these can be as low as $45 per person!
